Course Description
Dental anxiety remains one of the most significant barriers to oral healthcare, affecting patient compliance, appointment attendance, and treatment outcomes. This course explores natural, non-pharmacologic strategies that dental professionals can incorporate into clinical practice to help reduce anxiety and improve the patient experience.
Participants will examine the physiologic stress response, the oral-systemic implications of chronic anxiety, and evidence-informed techniques such as breathing strategies, sensory modifications, communication approaches, and environmental considerations. The course emphasizes practical, ethical, and scope-appropriate tools that support calmer, more cooperative patients without replacing medical or pharmacologic interventions.
This course is designed for dental teams seeking realistic, patient-centered solutions to anxiety management that enhance trust, safety, and clinical outcomes.
