Course Description:  This course examines the relationships and inter-relationships between the oral cavity and the systems of the body including: skeletal, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, endocrine system and more.

Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants will:

  • Develop an understanding of the major function and dysfunction of the major systems of the body.
  • Analyze the links between systemic disorders and oral health, for example: thyroid disorders and oral health or reproductive health and oral health etc.
  • Discuss the role of disease prevention and disease management in both systemic and oral conditions.

About Nicole:

Nicole had a passion for education and dentistry after a high school dental program ignited her passion, so she pursued a MA degree in Health Education from Columbia University in 2003 while teaching Dental Hygiene at New York University, where she received her BS degree, graduating with a 4.0. She then spent 14 years in formal education, serving as a high school dental teacher to the dean of dental hygiene. She spent years working as a holistic dental hygienist and a cannabis educator for a cannabis certification clinic in New Jersey, where she learned the therapeutic potential of cannabis and hemp-based medicine and how to truly apply the oral systemic link (with an open mind). She combines her personal experiences and passion for education in these in-depth comprehensive engaging courses.

Requirements to attend a live webinar:

  2.  To verify your continued attendance during the class, you will need a microphone, webcam or the ability to type into the program’s live chat.
  3.   Instructors or school personnel will take attendance periodically throughout the class.
  4.   Instructors may call on participants.
  5.  To verify attendance, a code word may be given sometime during the class.
  6. You will be required to complete and return an evaluation after the course has ended. The evaluation may ask what code word was given.
  7.  You may not receive your Certificate of Completion if we cannot verify your attendance.

Certificates of Completion are emailed to students approximately 5 business days after the course.

This program is for the full dental staff – no prior skills are needed to attend.

The teaching method will be in a lecture format with a Q & A period.
