Description:

This course will cover the history of tobacco use, tobacco use by people of all ages,  the impact of tobacco use on oral and periodontal health, oral pathologies resulting from tobacco use (benign and malignant), proper diagnosis an identification of oral pathologies related to tobacco use.

This course will focus specifically on oral and lung cancer as it relates to tobacco use, clinical manifestations of cancer, and diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Support group information referrals will be provided to dental professionals for use with their patients.

This course will help attendees identify and understand the consequences of smoking or chewing tobacco as it relates to health, especially oral health.
