Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA): OSA is the most common form of sleep apnea, accounting for over 80% of cases in the U.S. OSA occurs when the muscles that support the soft tissues in your throat, such as the tongue and soft palate, relax too much. Obstructive sleep apnea is largely associated with various circumstances seen by dentist such as:
- Nasal obstructions or sinus problems
- Enlarged tonsils
- Large tongue or large neck
- Small jawbone
As a qualified provider you are able to help patients live longer and have a better quality of life!

Instructor: Dr. Paul Taxin earned his DDS from Fairleigh Dickinson University . Following graduation, he served a residency at Morrisania NFCC, and is a fellow of the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Taxin has been a proud member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, DOCS, IACA, and IAO- International Association of Orthodontics. He has received extensive continuing education, with emphasis on cosmetic dentistry, laser dentistry, dental sleep medicine, and periodontics.
